General operation

  1. Generate a single-use code in the Boks app
  2. Pass the code to the driver by adding it to the address details or the useful delivery information (let the Boks app guide you through this)
  3. Collect your parcel from your Boks once you receive the carrier's delivery notification, by opening it via Bluetooth through your Boks app.

In the app, click the "How do I pass on this code?" button at the bottom of the code generation page, which will tell you how to proceed.

Here is the procedure if needed: copy the note generated by the app (e.g. boksA253code998A5B) into the delivery address form on the e-commerce site when you make your purchase. This note must appear without fail on the label attached to your parcel when the driver comes to drop it off. To do this, it's best to copy the note (e.g. boksA253code998A5B) into the 1st or 2nd line of your address (e.g. Additional details, Building, Floor, Stairwell, Entry code, etc.). Your goal is to enter the opening code note as sensibly as possible, to ensure it clearly appears to the driver on the parcel label.

If you forget to include the opening code in the delivery address, it is possible to generate a code directly over the phone with the driver (when your parcel is delivered).

No. Your Boks is energy self-sufficient (thanks to a replaceable battery with a 2–3 year lifespan). It is only connected to the internet via the user's smartphone, which it uses to communicate when the user opens it via Bluetooth.

The Boks service works on all e-commerce sites, and via all carriers, anywhere in the world, as long as the single-use code is correctly entered in your address form.

For now, Boks delivers BoksONE and BoksHUB to all French-speaking countries in Europe. All Boks are compatible with the boksTAG provided they are fitted with a V2 keypad (present on all Boks sold since June 2022) and can be set up in a few seconds using your Boks app.

Delivery times are given as a guide and may vary depending on production contingencies, particularly during the Covid period:

  1. BoksONE: approx. 3 weeks (in the case of product customisation, the delivery time may be longer)
  2. BoksPro: approx. 3 weeks (up to 12 weeks during the Covid period)
  3. BoksHUB: approx. 3 weeks after acceptance of the draft resolution on the agenda of your general meeting
  4. BoksC&C: delivery times on request.

Our teams remotely diagnose how your Boks is working and come out in the event of a problem (or offer you a replacement product in the case of a BoksONE during the 2-year warranty period).

You can also report a malfunction we may have missed by phone (01 87 65 05 87) or by email (help@boks.app) so that we can trigger an intervention if necessary.

After 2 to 3 years of use, the Boks battery must be replaced.
In the case of a BoksHUB, it is provided as part of the service rental contract.
In the case of a BoksONE or the boksPRO, it can be bought in stores or through our brand by sending an email to info@boks.app.

Security

Mechanical security

Your Boks is resistant to vandalism: it has a motorised rotary gorge lock that withstands 300 kg of pulling force, and is built from superior-grade reinforced steel sheet, between 1.0 and 2.0 mm thick, with resistance far greater than that of a letterbox (not as much as a safe, but more than an industrial security cabinet).

Electronic security

The access codes to your Boks are single-use (valid for a single opening) and are generated by an asymmetric encryption algorithm. They allow only the residents of your building as well as the carriers you have given one to access your Boks.


Application and community security

Every opening, closing, drop-off or pick-up operation is tracked and recorded. A Boks's complete activity is permanently available and viewable by its co-users in the app (History section in the menu). The Boks mobile app also uses a collaborative verification system for the number of parcels present in your Boks.

NB: boksHUB: A connected scale to monitor parcel weight. The boksHUB (Boks for buildings) are fitted with a connected scale that weighs the parcels. This ensures that no other parcel was stolen during a delivery. It is also able to confirm that a parcel was properly collected by the user without any other parcel being taken. If suspicious activity is detected, the system will alert its users.

Every opening or closing operation of the Boks is associated with a single-use code generated by the Boks user:

  • For the driver, it is a keypad code generated by the Boks user via their Boks app (passed by the customer to the driver via the delivery form on the e-commerce site)
  • For the Boks user, it is a code automatically transmitted via Bluetooth to the Boks when the user wants to open it to collect their parcel
  • All opening/closing activities of the Boks are thus tracked and recorded in the system, and viewable in the app.

We have chosen not to fit your Boks with the barrel compatible with La Poste's PTT pass: this is far too widely copied and would weaken the system's security while also losing the tracking of parcel drop-offs and pick-ups. Moreover, our code system fulfils all the functions of the universal pass: all delivery drivers and postal carriers can open the Boks using the single-use code provided to them.

Our boksTAG can be set up in a few seconds from your app and make it possible to grant individual access permissions to a trusted user or driver.

Using the Boks

Yes! Use your Boks to have all your parcels delivered, regardless of the carrier (La Poste, Chronopost, DHL, TNT, etc.) and of the e-retailer who entrusted your parcel to them (Amazon, Veepee, CDiscount, small local sites, etc.). The single-use code you generate is the key for a driver to drop off a parcel: there is therefore no restriction linked to the carrier or the seller!

Activate a Boks opening code on your computer? It's easy thanks to the Boks Google Chrome extension!

  1. Download it here
  2. Once installed, log in using your Boks account (same credentials as the mobile app)
  3. Then simply click "activate a code" to launch the generation of a Boks opening code

Don't forget: copy/paste the Boks note containing the opening code into the delivery information of your order so the driver can deliver to your Boks.

Absolutely! Here are the steps:

  1. generate a new driver code using your Boks app
  2. send this code by SMS to the person you have asked to collect the parcel(s)
  3. ask them to let you know as soon as the parcel(s) has/have been collected

Important: then complete the operation in your app by clicking the link "I have already collected/dropped off my parcel" appearing under your pending operation on the main page of your app

You have access to the entire history of the pick-up and drop-off operations carried out in your Boks in the "History" tab of your Boks app.

The single-use opening code is valid as long as it has not been entered on the Boks keypad. So your driver can still deliver to you even if you have mistakenly marked your parcel as delivered.

boksONE-specific information for your home

Of course! Your BoksONE has a mail slot allowing you to receive your mail without the postal carrier needing to receive a code or open the locker door. So BoksONE can either replace your existing letterbox or complement it.

Your Boks can be delivered in 4 different colours: white (RAL 9010), beige (RAL 1013), light grey (RAL 7035) or anthracite grey (RAL 7016). Visuals are available on the site www.boks.app in the section describing our products.

Your Boks is fitted with a high-security electromechanical rotary gorge lock that can be opened with a single-use code by any type of driver you trust enough to give it to.

In the unlikely event that it should fail, you have an emergency opening key. However, the emergency barrel is not intended for regular use (your BoksONE would then lose its Bluetooth connectivity obtained via your app, and would no longer be able to track opening and closing activities).

Your Boks can be fixed from below (on a flat surface such as a low wall) or on a wall, door or gate. You will need to use the 4 wall plugs and fixing screws provided and have a drill on hand.

Please note: your Boks must not be installed on public land (e.g. overhanging a pavement) but on private property (e.g. under a porch, in a recess, on a private access lane, etc.). This is the only installation constraint.

No. You can install a Boks yourself. Only the four screws and wall plugs provided are needed to secure the Boks to the wall or the ground. You will only need a drill. Refer to the instructions for assembly.

2 types of Boks opening codes are available to you:

  • Single-use code (occasional deliveries)
  • Permanent code (for trusted people)

If you live in a house and own a BoksONE, you should contact your insurer to see whether they can provide compensation.

boksHUB-specific information in a building

We support you in requesting your BoksHUB for your building via a simple and intuitive online form.Let us guide you!

  • If you are an owner, you simply need to submit your request, possibly accompanied by the quote, to your property manager or your management council, who will take the necessary steps with us (an installation may be subject to a vote at the general meeting of co-owners)
  • If you are a tenant, you must submit the installation request to the owner of your property (if it is a private individual) or to its manager (if it is an institutional one): they can then carry out the necessary steps to install the service in your building.

  1. Download the Boks app (search for “Boks Logistics” on the App Store or Google Play)
  2. Create your account using your email address and a password of your choice
  3. You must then (on the next screen) link yourself to one of the Boks in your building.

2 options are possible:

You have received an email from Boks containing a secret activation code. Enter this secret code in the field provided. You are then linked to a Boks and ready to use it: its registration number is visible in the “My Boks” section of the app menu (this same registration number is shown on the front of the Boks).

You have not received an email containing a secret activation code. In that case, enter the registration number found on one of the Boks in your building (this number is visible on a black registration plate located below the Boks's alphanumeric keypad). An access authorisation request is then automatically sent to the manager or caretaker of your residence, who will have to validate your request (notably to prevent outsiders from accessing the system). As soon as this authorisation is granted, you will receive an email from Boks informing you of your access to the service and of your Boks's registration number (you can find this number in the “My Boks” section of the app menu)

When registering on the mobile app, you must enter the number of the Boks located in your building. If you enter the wrong number, you can contact customer support (on our site or directly from the mobile app) to have a manual modification made to your Boks linking request.

A scale is built into each of the BoksHUB that are installed. Thanks to automatic weighing, the connected scales make it possible to monitor any pick-up or drop-off of a parcel in the Boks.

So, with the complete history available in the back office, it is easy to trace openings, closings and parcel thefts.

To avoid clogging up the Boks with your parcels for too long, go to the Chat section of your app to, for example, ask a neighbour for help, who could collect your parcels in your absence and keep them available at their place until you return.

Yes, of course. Remember to use the chat of the Boks mobile app to let them know, and to properly acknowledge receipt of your parcel once it has been collected (this keeps the activity history up to date and therefore strengthens the security of the system).

If a co-user has asked you to collect a parcel (or parcels) for them, let them know (by phone, SMS, email or via the Chat section of your app) once the parcel has been collected, and ask them to acknowledge receipt of their parcel via their app by clicking the link |I have already collected/dropped off my parcel|; this way, the operation will be closed.

If you live in a building, get in touch with your concierge, your property manager, or your management council to notify them. The Boks company will proceed with its replacement as soon as possible. If your parcels have also been stolen, file a claim with your e-retailer and/or your carrier, as you would in the case of a standard home delivery that had not arrived; the latter should normally compensate you or reship your goods

boksPRO-specific information for professionals

The BoksPRO lets you receive your parcels 24/7, even when you are unavailable. Between work obligations and appointments, it is not always easy to take delivery of your parcels. In addition, the BoksPRO lets you receive 100% of your parcels thanks to its dimensions. Finally, full access to the back office is available with the BoksPRO subscription. You can thus find the entire history of the BoksPRO (of your colleagues, drivers, etc.).

The BoksPRO allows parcels to be received both from your colleagues and from carriers, thanks to dimensions larger than the boksONE. The boksPRO's capacity thus lets you receive many parcels simultaneously.
In addition, from 4 users onwards, a back office subscription is available, allowing you to optimise your company's parcel reception management.

Conversely, the BoksONE is an offer aimed at detached houses. The volume offered, while large, is less suited to businesses.
